Huzzah! One less reason to lay off the sauce.
Well, Mr. Carpetbagger, where I come from we've got something called the Missoura Boat Ride...

BTW, I see numbnuts already has his own separate threads - and one of them is rated five stars.
Not bad...

So far, I like it! Do prefer a continuous page of drivel rather this paging format. Makes it to easy to miss pages of useless comments that are off topic and politically charged bs...hmmm, come to think of it, new format might not be that bad after all!
The main page looks great. Now about the "forums":

Can I assume a "nested" viewing option is in the works, so I can see all of the comments, with the replies to each comment indented underneath them, all on one page? Because if "easier navigation" is one of the features, I'm thinking that making me click to advance to the next page isn't really "easier", nor is trying to figure out what comment another comment is referring to. More like "time-consuming pain-in-the-ass enough to make it not worth it." Even cooler would be an option to get rid of all the space-wasting crap like avatars. In other words, just like the old version.

Of course, I'm just looking it over now, so maybe I'm just not seeing it, and it isn't as subscription-lapsing horrible as it seems.
I agree 100%. Why do we need to have the comments paged if we can handle the bandwidth and memory of showing it all in one? Instead of 40 per page as the maximum, can we make it 100% (or 1000, if we need an upper limit).
And, yes, the forums suck too. Maybe even more than the new look.
Absolutely. I have no idea what's going on in 90% of this thread, because I just don't have the time to click every post or try to figure out who's saying what to who in linear mode.

MO's forums are now like most Internet forum designs - unnecessarily atomizing. Everyone ends up on little islands. And like most everything in the computer world, the software engineers simply do not appreciate the virtue of simplicity, and add layer after unnecessary layer. It's exactly what I feared the redesign would be.

I'm really hoping that the problem is my own ignorance, but so far no one's told me how to "fix" it, so...
Congrats

Just like to say, so far so good. I like "the" MO 2.0. Perhaps it's time to take a Poll (in addition to starting this thread). I would assume the responsibility myself but 1.) I don't know how and 2.) I can't think of anything funny to say at 12:04 am.
Old v New

I like simple. This new format is not. It's way too busy. For my money you have "over-clevered" the whole process of accessing the data. I really liked the old article search layout. I also liked the continuous feed of the articles. The whole structure in one page. Neat and clean.
The whole site now screams advertising. What I appreciated before was that it screamed real content. In the "old days" your extra bit got you out of the advertising show. Now, apparently, there's no relief.
Old Forum was Better

The old nested version of the forum was a lot easier to follow and was only one click to see all.

Thanks for making it free though.
Glad to see MO take this step. It's been a long time coming...

Glad to be back..
Holy crap- am I a founding member? Anyway, I really like the fact that the damned site was finally updated. I'm probably the only person that think this, but ditch the babes. Motorcycle.com is about motorcycles. If I want to see girls, that is just a sexy search away....
Knew you'd come around. Nice to be back - it's been too long.
Count me as another one who likes the new set up.

I'll be coming back more often and adding my grains of salt.

Great job MO.
Back at MO

Good to get back to the great reviews and articles. I'm not convinced yet about the new syle but will hold my tongue until I've had a better look around. Nevertheless congrats on opening the door again MO.
Ah, there you all are! I've been looking all over the site for you. I suppose the snacks and beer have all gone by now, which is my fault for coming late, I suppose. But the new site is very colourful, and the galleries/videos/manufacturers set-up is nice. Just three niggles:
1. Couldn't Guzzi get a manufacturer's category of their own? Do they have to be with Hyosung et al? I mean, if you're going to give Aprilia separate status, why not Guzzi?
2. Babe of the Month will bring in the viewers, I suppose (weary sigh) but could you at least have them posing on motorcycles? And try not to get airheads who say 'I don't know anything about motorcycles': make up the copy, if you must, along the lines of 'I really like sportbikes, they're so smooth-looking and they sound really hot'. You know, try to link up motorcycles, enthusiasm, sex and desire rather than motorcycles, ignorance, and disinterest.
3. The BB will settle down after a while, I'm sure, but I, too, used to like being able to see the nested comments at a single click insatead of having to keep loading lages of icons and avatars.

What the hell? How did Batman get put there? I didn't select or click anything. Oh, well, could be worse, I suppose...

At very least, make the "Babes" a more discreet link on the first page. I like to browse at work during lunch and I can't have image from the front page up if my VP stopped by.
How come I'm not a "Premium" founding member? I've been paying for years.
Hearty congratulations. Welcome to the 21st century. Very nice new design. In my opinion this is a huge step forward. And I like the fact that the forums looks like most other forums, i.e. modern.
