What's happened to Motorcycle.com?

Okay, I go away for a while and come back. First thing I do is get to my trusty motorcycle.com. WTF?
There are missing articles, (well, located elsewhere. e.g., The B Team: Value Supersport Shootout, which I find under Sport Bike Shotouts) a WAY too busy site, and no "Contact Us" link. Where's my account info?
Is there any link from the owners to an article explaining what happened? Is it now free? What gives?

Oh yeah, and the Buell article wasn't under "Buell" in the reviews section any more.
I'm a little confused as well. I've been away for a few months and decided to come see what folks are saying about the new Buell 1125r. My dream come true BTW, with their dropping the tractor engine in favor of a Rotax twin and all!!!!! (A slipper clutch is even included!!!!!)

Also, I know my subscription is out of date and I need to pay, but I couldn't figure out how to do so?

As for the look and feel of the new site. It looks cool, but it's gonna take us old-timers a while to get used to it.
b-dude,

Join the rest of us dazed and confused veterans of a formerly user-friendly site.

As far as I can tell, there is no real reason to pay a subscription. I got an e-mail from whoever the heck is drinking coffee in the MO closet saying Premier members get this and that, but I can't figure out how to get around the regular features.

And- I'm paid up, and am not allowed to edit my posts.

One tip: Check the "User CP" tab for your profile stuff.
I just located the "Contact US" link

The link to ask questions or get help is as follows:

Thanks for the info...

When did all of these changes take place? I was shocked when I first saw the default page!

Are Buzz, Fonzie, Pete and the rest of the gang still here? (Actually I used to have Pete's private email addr somewhere, I need to look for it and see if I can get the whole story...)
All, I saw someone mention confusion on how to edit our user profiles.

I was able to do this under the "quick links" at the top. There are several different places to go there so you'll need to mess with it until you get what you want.
Man I agree, I used to hit this site all the time and now I hate it. I only come here out of habit. I was a paying member for years and I never complained about the old site. Go ahead MO. Admit it was a mistake and give us back the old site and we will forgive you.

Complete agreement. The old site wasn't flashy, but it was very easy to navigate.

From what I've seen, there really isn't much going on in the way of new content, and now that the page is covered with adds and other cruft, am seriously considering not renewing.

Too bad, since this has been a favorite destination for quite some time.
Thanks for the tip Pushrod - I was unable to locate that info myself
Oh, what a tangled web we weave....

It sure seems difficult to find message threads. Guess I'm something of a Carrithers-style Luddite, but the old posting system really seemed to work well, and now I can't find anything. Partly because nobody else seems to be able to find anything, either, and everybody just posts wherever they happen to be. Then again, everybody has to be somewhere....

If I poke around long enough, I can usually find things, and all the usual suspects are hanging around.

Second the motion.....not because I don't like change, but this is outta control. Simplicity WAS the thing I liked best along with the humor.
Me too..............................

I used to come to MO most days to check out the latest stories, news and tests of bikes and gear.

Then things dried up - with most of the new material posted by members and frequently linked to elsewhere.

The new site has been up for a while now, but I dont see any reason to come here other than maybe once per week, and there's not been much of interest.

There's heaps more info on other sites, especially news.

The new MO, so far, is not only clumsier to use but has more ad's than recent content.

Unless I'm using it wrong??............

Maybe they set the bar too high, maybe they're under-resourced.

e.g. It was dissapointing that the story on the Motocyz thingy was headed 'by motorcycle.com staff' but was almost word for word what was on the manufacturers website.
That's not journalism.

Hope things get better or I'll be gone.

That'd be dissapointing as I've been here since day one.

Motorcycle.com has gone from a "daily must read" site to a "check it weekly to see if they put it back" site. MO Staff - You screwed it up!!!!
Well, I'm kind of getting used to it. Unfortunately, the site no longer has the "punch" it once had.

Also, as long as they keep posting old articles, I'm going t be PO'ed.

I couldn't agree more. Heck as a web developer even I find MO 2.0 obnoxiously laid out and honorably organized. I'd be willing to keep paying a subscription fee to get back the old site and it's clever writing.

Sometimes 'stripped down' works best. Imagine how many folks on the web would freak out if craigslist did a redesign like this.
...make that 'horribly' organized.
dazed & confused

Thank God you guys are saying this...I thought it was just me and my inate inability to learn new things.
yeah it seems since about the time gabe took that other job the folks at MO have gone into hibernation. they spat out this site redesign and made it free (which is good cause the site redesign alienated all the paying customers) but thats pretty much all that's come out of them since..

Easily the most intellegent thing ever posted on MO. You should run for political office.
