I've been riding for twenty years, and never been down. kpaul's been "riding" for -what? - five? And his bike was in the shop for six months of that after the branch attack?

Yet when it comes to riding technique, he's got all the answers, while I shut my mouth and open my ears to hear people who've got more miles under their belts, more training and more track time.

I guess that's why I'm so stupid and he's so smart.

"Well, I can think of one thing," the man offered. "Once, on a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of gnarly bikers who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most heavily-tattooed biker and smacked him on the head, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring and threw it on the ground. I yelled, "Now, back off, biker s*****, or you'll answer to me!"



St. Peter was impressed. "When did this happen?"



"Just a couple minutes ago!"
