Which Has More Power?

Hate to disagree, but not entirely true. Prices on used HDs have been going down, even here in Richmond, which has notoriously high prices. The days of selkling your Hog for more than you bought it for might be over.



Of course, now is not the best time to search for evidence. Just my generalized observations on the local bike market.

Well, I've ridden all those bikes. I liked the Warrior best.

The thing is, if you REALLY want acceleration and power you should get a sportbike. Even a Rocket III is pretty tame compared to a GSXR-1000 or ZX-14. The Warrior is faster than anybody needs on the street and is modifiable if you really want more. What makes it great is the balance and personality it has, and those other bikes are good, but don't have it.

But that's just my preference!

Poor M109R! It gets no love from us here at MO, but that's not fair. It's a really, really good motorcycle with great handling and a brilliant motor but you're right, not the belle of the ball looks-wise.

Can't quite agree with the power thing but....I know the Warrior chassis is a great place to start although the ergo are not a match for me. I look forward to riding a Roadliner as it at least appears to have many of the Warriors positive attributes in a modernized typical cruiser format.

At some point the market had to become saturated. I guess when supply exceeds demand, the prices will indeed drop. Relatively speaking though, the Harley will hold on to a much greater percent of its original value over its life. That's the main reason I picked up a 2003 Meanie for $6,000. A Harley of relative niche would have been closer to $10-12k. Great for buying and keeping a meanie. Not too great for selling.

Thanks everyone,I just decided too keep my dyna. I ride the heck out of it & it's been a great bike.I've put over 6,000 + miles on it in the last 4 mo.'s & I ride it pretty hard.There are just some times I want a better handling machine.I commute & sometimes it just get's a little old.

the meanstreak will blow a stock harley away. I have ridden both and there is no comparison

Heh heh. These conversations are pretty funny. Imagine people arguing about which big displacement V-twin is faster than the other when each and every one of them couldn't catch your 599. "My 1250 CI S&S&S SuperDuperMachoV-Twin is faster than ANY Harley!. Oops? What was that going by us? Oh, it's Sachi on her 599". LOL.

At an average speed of 68 miles per hour not counting 4 minute gas stops and trips to the ladies room...

No no no. If I need a trip to the ladies' room I have to add a couple minutes to those stops. Gotta be realistic after all.
