I have gotten quite a bit of that Shiite off my pipe, usually use Flitz, a metal polish, but that is starting to wear off the chrome. The best idea I have tried is to wipe it off while very hot, using a clean white rag. Oven cleaner cautions against using on chrome, so I never tried it. Best of luck. Clem.
