hi, have a zx6r 2001 with 38000km. lately experienced that on normal rev its not running constantly. like when the tires are not ballanced.however when accelerating it speeds perfectly, chain is good and the valves were adjusted at 31600km. had its carburators syncronized at 28000km.
what could be the reason for this? thanks.

Adam, are you saying that at a constant speed the bikes hesitates and/or surges, but runs smoothly when the throttles are opened and you're accelerating? If so, those are classic symptoms of a fueling problem. I'd look into syncing the carbs again. Also, what's up with the exhaust? Is it stock or an "upgraded" system?
sounds like lean surging, probably an intake air leak. Tighten all the clamps that hold the carbs to the manifold and the manifolds to the head. Check for loose or missing vacuum lines or plugs.

Possible gunk in the carbs also. He didn't say he cleaned them lately. Time for a good acid bath soaking?

He had the valves adjusted AFTER the carb synch.....if you adjust the valves you need to re-sync the carbs, also something probably got knocked loose or not tightened enough.

Most probably stuffing a few dryer sheets in the airbox would do, the acid bath treatment is only for newer bikes or after an air filter change...
